Exceptional reliability.
12-Bay SCSI-IDE RAID System

The ADTX K12 RAID subsystem is a very high performance SCSI-to IDE data storage system with state-of-the-art features and exceptional reliability. It can provide very large storage capacity with its support for up to 12 disk drives. One notable feature of the K12 is its support for multiple simultaneous host connections, whereby one K12 can be connected to more than one computer - thus sharing its capacity. It is ideally suited for high throughput applications.

High Performance
Featuring a 64-bit 133 MHz memory bus, for unparalleled bandwidth, makes the K121s high data throughput more than sufficient for small-to-medium sized servers or workstations. Data can be distributed through its 133MHz, 64-bit memory bus at burst rates up to 1,064MB/sec. The system's overall performance can reach 250MB/sec. (sustained reads utilizing the system1s two independent Ultra160 SCSI ports - simultaneously). It1s dual independent PCI bus design virtually eliminates all bottlenecks from I/O traffic, providing sufficient throughput for a wide range of applications on SCSI-based computers, servers and workstations.

Management Software Option
The K12 offers easy-to-use, Java-based GUI RAID management software. Operating under Java 2.0 (Java Run-time Environment 1.2 or 1.3), this software provides a complete management interface to the disk array and a constant real-time report of the current RAID status, errors, events, and capacity. It also permits storage managers to quickly locate and rectify problematic hardware without downtime or data loss. Many RAID controller functions, such as password management and firmware upgrades can be handled through the software console. Its various windows provide information about all installed hard drives and key elements of the RAID controller. Environmental conditions can also me monitored and measured. Storage managers can even be notified of events occurring virtually anywhere by its powerful event notification utility, NPC (Notification Processing Center). A variety of notification methods are available: e-mail, SNMP traps, LAN broadcast, fax, and pager. This management software makes RAID management an easy matter of point-and-click from a Java-enabled browser.

High Data Availability

Redundant Power Supplies
Two 350W, hot-swappable power supplies provide fault-tolerance from the power source. With two power supplies installed, both will share the current consumption needs of the whole system. If one should fail, an alarm will sound and the remaining power supply will take over the full load until the faulty unit is replaced.

Hot Swappable Disk Drives
The hot-swap drive feature ensures that the system remains operational while replacing a failed disk drive. (RAID 1 through 5 only)

Online "Hot Spare Drives"
The K12 allows for a hot spare drive that will be brought online automatically in the event of a drive failure among the main drives. Data reconstruction begins on the spare drive without user intervention. (RAID 1 through 5 only)

Controls / Indicators
Front LCD control panel for setup and configuration. Three drive LED indicators: power, busy, and attention Power and drive failure indication through the LCD. Built-in alarm mute button.
